Resources

Here at WISER, one of our goals to provide support to women and female-identifying graduate students in STEM. To this end, we have designated "WISER Navigators" who are here to help you navigate any situations you might find yourself in where you might want somebody to talk to. You can also find other resources at Northwestern listed at the bottom of the page.

WISER Navigators: What We Do

We are devoted to helping students in the Northwestern STEM community navigate resources after experiencing or witnessing discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct. We can help students navigate these situations through:

  • Providing a supportive resource for conversations and questions regarding Title IX policy

  • Outlining options for anyone who has experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct

  • Reporting cases of discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct to the Northwestern Office of Equity

  • Helping students understand the responsible employee reporting obligation

While we are not responsible employees within our positions with WISER, meaning that we are not required to report information about harassment, discrimination, or sexual misconduct to the Office of Equity, we are not designated as privileged resources. This means that we may be asked to share information that was provided to us in court should a person later be involved in a court proceeding.
